Decision Fatigue: Why Your Brain Gets Tired

Every day, fitness professionals make hundreds of decisions. What workout should this client do today? Should that exercise be modified? How should a difficult conversation be handled? What content should be posted on social media? Which emails require immediate attention?

While many people associate fatigue with physical exertion, the brain can become tired as well. One of the lesser-known contributors to mental exhaustion is decision fatigue—the decline in decision-making quality that occurs after a prolonged period of choices and mental effort.

Understanding decision fatigue can help fitness professionals protect their mental wellbeing, improve focus, and maintain the energy needed to effectively support clients.
