Building Your Happiness Toolkit

We tend to treat happiness like a reward waiting for us at the end of something. When I finally take the vacation. When I make it to Friday night. When the calendar clears and the to-do list is done. So we chase the weekend, we book the trip, and then we come home and notice that the good feeling did not actually follow us back through the front door. Most of us are asleep by Friday anyway.

Here is what the research actually shows. Happiness is not about time. It is about what you do with your time. It is not a someday thing or a one-day thing. It is built quietly, one small choice at a time, across the ordinary Tuesdays and Friday nights that make up most of a life. That is the heart of the talk I gave to the Tampa Bay Lifelong Learners, and I am so glad I get to share it with you here.

If you want the full talk, including the stories, the science, and a few moments of the room laughing at me, the presentation is embedded below. Grab a fancy coffee in a real mug, settle in, and let’s build your happiness toolkit together.
