Grab a Stuffie: Mama & Me Moves

Kids have boundless energy, don’t they? Especially right now when socializing with other tiny humans is limited to their siblings or parents. (PS. My tiny human will be 7 tomorrow and birthdays are not canceled.)

Playing is not only important to kids, its important to adults too. And with movement ideas like these below, you can play just like a kid! And bonus…with your kids!

So grab a few stuffies and try each of these drills with your kiddos this weekend. There is no limitation on how long you should do each drill, but 1-minute seems to work best. Give it a try and let us know what you and your kiddos think!

Stuffie Pass & Run

Line up side by side with your kiddo(s). Pass the stuffie to the farthest person on the right. The person with the stuffie runs around the back of the person on their left, becoming the last person in the line. They then pass the stuffie to the person on their right. Make it across your room (or yard) and reverse the pattern.

Stuffie Tickle & Jump

Lay the stuffie down at your feet. Jump your feet out wide, bending your knees as you land, and giving the stuffie a tickle. Jump your feet back together as you stand up.

Stuffie Squat & Toss

While holding your stuffie, bend your knees sitting your hips down and back into a squat. As you stand up, toss the stuffie into the air. Catch it as you lower back down into your squat.

Skip, Pass, & Run

Start on opposite sides of the room from each other, with 1 person holding the stuffie. Skip to the middle of the room & pass the stuffie to the next person. Kick your booty as your jog backwards to where you started.

Stuffie Shuffle

Lay the stuffie down in the middle of the floor with a “starter” on one side and a “shuffler” on the other. Both the starter and the shuffler have to move at the same time. The starter shuffles sideways to the stuffie & then jumps over the stuffie to continue shuffling to the side of the room to become the shuffler. The shuffler shuffles sideways behind the stuffie to become the starter. Make sure to reverse directions after the 1-minute.
