FLOW Friday: Sept. 29th

Sometimes we fail to see how important our practical actions can be. We long for the great inspiration, the important recognition, or the big breakthrough. Yet all of our lives are made up of common simple tasks that should and need to be done. When something is ordinary, we frequently fail to see its real importance. All of what we do is important. And the smallest task done out of compassion is of the utmost importance.

Have you ever completed a task for someone and expected nothing in return? No thanks. No return favor. No obligation.

According to statistics, this occurrence is getting lower and lower in our busy lives, especially around the fall season. We are driven by appreciation, and there is nothing wrong with that. However, sometimes for the well-being of others, it is best to do things without expecting anything in return.

So your challenge today is to write one of your favorite sayings, mantras, Bible quotes, or song lyrics in a card, on an index card, or post it note; do not sign it. Now, leave it for someone else to find. Tape it to the bathroom mirror at work. Leave it on a co-worker’s desk. Drop it in a neighbor’s mailbox. Leave it on the table at a coffee shop. While it sounds cheesy, and let’s face it, it kind of is, this can really impact someone else’s day. A simple reminder that things will get better can change a person’s outlook on the day.

And remember, do not expect anything in return. No appreciation. No thanks. No karma. Nothing.

Due to the popularity of last years thankFLOW program, I releasing it again for 2017 with some upgrades.

It is that time of year again. The time where we forget about ourselves in order to make the holiday season perfect for other people. We forgo our workouts for dinner parties. Stress levels reach the roof as we forget to breathe. In a time where we should be reflecting on being thankful, we worry about what we need to purchase next. BUT not this year. No, this year, you will be thankFLOW.

ThankFLOW is a 30-day program starting Nov. 1st and designed to help you appreciate your body, mind, and life. For 30-days, you will receive an email containing a 15-minute FLOW workout. FLOW is a fusion of yoga, pilates, and athletic stretching. No experience is required. No equipment is needed. There is no need to go to the gym or put on spandex. You can do this workout in your pajamas. The goal is to get stronger in your body as you increase your flexibility. You do not need to be flexible, and there are no pretzel or handstand positions.

This program is also designed to help you quiet your mind. Within each video, there will also be a few moments of breath, where we focus on shutting out the stress of the holiday season and reflect on all of the things we should be thankful for having in our lives.

Also, each week, you will receive a self- and community- service project that will help you respect yourself and the others around you. This project will not take longer than 10-minutes of your time but offer you a sense of pride and accomplishment.

While the 2016 version of thankFLOW was so much fun, I want to add more this year. While a lot of the thankFLOW daily videos will remain the same, some will be new. And for 2017, there will also be a private facebook group, additional workout videos, Facebook LIVE classes, and some fun prizes to be won.

Right now, you can get the entire month for only $39. On October 15th, the price will increase to $49.
